In July, Bridges to Community will collect new children’s backpacks and $25 Target gift cards for families to purchase the school supplies needed for the backpacks. The backpacks and gift cards will be given to the children of low-income families in the Alta Housing community who are enrolled in summer reading and study group programs. Alta Housing provides low and moderate-income housing for families in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.
This is usually a time for the ministry to take a brief break and begin planning for the next fiscal year. We hope you all take a moment for self-care and recharging. ADDITIONALLY, June is Men’s Mental Health Month and Alzheimer’s/Brain Awareness Month.
We have begun the fourth quarter of the fiscal year (July 25-June 26). Thank you for your support of our parish's mission and ministries. In April, our average weekly collection was $22,589. You also generously donated to various important causes through our April special collections, totaling $55,155 or ($12,789) per week). This brings our weekly April total to $35,378. We budgeted our Sunday Offertory income (less special collections) for JUL-APR (42 weeks x $25,000) at $1,050,000, and we received $1,025,000 (-$25,000).
Memorial Day is the “unofficial start of Summer—the time of vacations and weekends away. This can be quite challenging for our parish financially. As the attendance at our weekend Masses declines, so can the weekly support of our parishioners—a very good reason to consider using ONLINE GIVING. The challenge is that our financial responsibilities do not go away during June, July, and August.
With hearts full of joy, we extend our warmest congratulations to Michael and Katie Sternhagen on the beautiful blessing of their child's birth, Emily Grace. As Michael embraces this special season of fatherhood, he will be taking paternity leave for the foreseeable future to spend valuable time with his growing family.
