This Lenten Season, our parish participated in the Catholic Relief Society (CRS) Rice Bowls. Together, we gave alms for to those in need each day by "giving" to the CRS Rice Bowl.
It was more than just giving into a cardboard bowl though. You meet some of the people your donations will serve and help us as a universal church help our brothers and sisters. Note, 75% of your donations will go to those in Ghana, Guatemala and Timor-Leste with the remaining 25% staying here in our diocese to help those in need.
As our CRS Rice Bowl journey comes to an end, may the Eucharist continue to transform our lives and help us respond to God’s call to serve our global family. Let us commit to sharing the joy of the Resurrection with people in our local community and around the world.
Please pick up a CRS Rice Bowl in the back of church this weekend to start your almsgiving at home!
We will be collecting your Rice Bowl donations starting shortly online (the preferred way to donate) and at mass starting on Palm Sunday. If you are bringing your box back, please help us out by writing a check for the amount of all of your coins collected.
Empowering Growth in Ghana
By supporting CRS Rice Bowl, you help parents and caregivers in Ghana to receive training in health, nutrition and early childhood development. That means, young children in these communities are better able to thrive and meet critical milestones in their growth.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS!
